Bank of Spain paper looks at supply chains’ impact on investment


Outward and domestic investment are more correlated in industries where companies own the entire value chain, says research published by the Bank of Spain.

In Domestic and foreign investment in advanced economies: the role of industry integration, by Teresa Sastre and Laura Heras Recuero, explore the role of industry integration in determining the relation between outward foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic investment.

In their work, they use disaggregated data at the industry level
