Survey finds nearly a quarter of Americans struggling to pay their bills

The US economy is on an upward trajectory but major segments of the population still have trouble paying bills and maintaining adequate resources for emergencies, according to research by the Federal Reserve.

The fourth annual survey of US households finds that while there have been small improvements in recent years, many people still report hardship.
