Bolivia and IMF reach $1.9bn financing deal

Three-year agreement comes below country’s expectations of more than $2.5 billion

The International Monetary Fund has reached a staff-level agreement with Bolivia on a $1.9 billion financing programme.

In a statement on July 29, the IMF said the deal – which is subject to approval from the institution’s executive board – would support Bolivia’s economic reform programme.
