Market highs do not reflect risks, says BoE’s Breeden

Deputy governor says risk of multiple shocks occurring at same time keeps her ‘awake at night’

High asset prices do not reflect the level of risk in markets, according to the Bank of England’s deputy governor for financial stability.

“There’s a lot of risk out there and yet asset prices are at all-time highs,” Sarah Breeden said in an interview with the BBC published today (April 24). “We expect there will be an adjustment at some point.”
