Eurozone food inflation to ease in 2026 – ECB bulletin

Sticky prices have moderated in recent months and should decline further in 2026, economists say

Food inflation in the eurozone is to ease in the coming year, having stayed above historical averages since the Covid-19 pandemic, a study published by the European Central Bank has said.

In its latest economic bulletin on January 12, economists at the ECB analyse the drivers of food inflation in 2025, which was sticky and stayed above historical averages.
