US inflation expectations hold steady in November – NY Fed

Latest survey shows increasing concerns over medical costs and financial welfare more generally

Inflation expectations at every time horizon stayed steady between October and November, according to the latest survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The results of the consumer expectations survey by the New York Fed’s Center for Microeconomic Data, published on December 8, show that people’s forecasts about the rising costs of medical care surged to their highest level since January 2014.

It added that labour market expectations had improved slightly, but respondents’ perceptions
