Lagarde calls for EU-wide clean energy strategy
Integrated capital markets to finance affordable and sustainable sources of power, ECB president says
Christine Lagarde has said she would like to see the European Union come together and create a cohesive energy transition strategy.
Speaking at the Norges Bank’s climate conference on October 21, the president of the European Central Bank told attendees that the EU’s reliance on imported fossil fuels was “no longer sustainable” in the face of geopolitical volatility and the “accelerating climate crisis”.
