
Trade trends favoured China over US even before tariffs – study
St Louis Fed research shows long-term re-anchoring of countries’ trade links between 2002 and 2022

A growing number of countries were prioritising China over the US when it comes to trade even before this year’s tariffs, according to research from the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis. The study, published on June 2, covers 2002 to 2022.
