Claudia Goldin wins Nobel Prize for economics
Economist uses history and data analysis to identify drivers of gender inequality
Harvard University professor Claudia Goldin has won the 2023 Nobel Prize in economics for her work on gender inequality in the labour market.
Goldin “provided the first comprehensive account of women’s earnings and labour market participation through the centuries”, the Nobel Prize committee said today (October 9). “Her research reveals the causes of change, as well as the main sources of the remaining gender gap.”
Goldin becomes the third woman to win the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic
