The Bank of England has unveiled the species of animals the UK public have chosen to appear on its new set of nature-themed banknotes.

The bank announced today (October 8) that the barn owl, buff-tailed bumblebee and European hedgehog had secured the most votes in a public consultation, which lasted from June 3 until July 3.
