Officials say greenback likely to remain dominant for foreseeable future
The dollar will not lose its position as the world’s pre-eminent currency any time soon, officials told a panel discussion at the Central Banking Meetings London on June 10.
The panel discussed the future direction of travel for the US currency following the turbulence of the past year, as a range of geopolitical and economic shocks led some observers to question whether the dollar could remain the fulcrum of the global financial system.
