Currency round-up: Yellen’s signature added to US money
Singapore ends practice of printing new year notes; new coins in Canada and Ghana; and more
United States: The US Treasury Department announced on December 8 that its printworks is now producing US dollar bills with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s signature.
This is the first time a woman treasury secretary’s signature has appeared on US paper money. US dollar bills bear the signature of the Treasury Secretary and the Treasurer of the United States.
The latter official oversees the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and the US Mint, which produce banknotes and coins
