Zimbabwe’s government hunts for dollar alternative

Zimbabwe’s finance minister has pledged to introduce a new currency to replace its failing dollarisation, but it is not yet clear whether this plan can succeed.  

Most signs point to any new currency being pegged, once again, to the dollar. But Central Banking spoke to some observers who think it might be pegged to a basket of currencies or even to the Chinese yuan.
