Brief History

Established by Law Nº. 21 dated 12 February 1986, its Charter was approved by Law Nº. 34 dated 9 March 1988, modified by Law Nº. 86 dated 27 June 2003 and amended by Law Nº. 96 dated 29 June 2005. The bank started operations in 1991. The bank is in charge of financial supervision and regulation and supports San Marino’s banking system, carries out treasury and overdue tax collection services on behalf of the State and gives financial and economic advice to the government.
