House price inflation ‘increasing again’ in Auckland

Governor Graeme Wheeler today said the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will be "talking more about the housing market over the next few months" as it remains uncomfortable with the level of house price inflation in some parts of the country.

Wheeler told the Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce that house price inflation slowed as the central bank's loan-to-value restrictions kicked in and mortgage interest rates went up.

However, it "appears to be increasing again" in Auckland, Wheeler said
