Pakistan governor sets out communications ‘revamp’

Ashraf Mahmood Wathra issues first statement as governor

Ashraf Mahmood Wathra outlined plans to improve communication at the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) yesterday, in his first statement since his appointment as governor earlier this week.

The central bank plans to hold workshops for local journalists – in an attempt to "carve out a stronger interface between SBP and [the] people of Pakistan" – where it will provide up-to-date facts and figures for their reporting.
