Mersch cautiously optimistic on RMB internationalisation


The internationalisation of the renminbi offers opportunities both for Chinese and international investors and corporates, including in the euro area, according to Yves Mersch, a member of the European Central Bank's executive board.

Delivering the keynote speech at the first ever Luxembourg Renminbi Forum, the former head of the Luxembourg central bank said that for China – and its trading partners – to fully reap the benefits of renminbi internationalisation, China needs to continue reforming
