BoJ's Kuroda reports ‘steady progress' on QQE
With quantitative and qualitative easing (QQE) making "steady progress", Japan's economy has been proceeding smoothly along a path towards achieving the Bank of Japan's (BoJ) price stability goal of 2%, BoJ governor Haruhiko Kuroda said today in a speech in Tokyo.
Kuroda noted that the year-on-year rate of change in the consumer price index (CPI excluding fresh food) accelerated to 0.7% in July, after having turned positive to 0.4% in June.
