RBA governor hints at additional easing

Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) governor Glenn Stevens doubled down on prior remarks that the country's inflation outlook affords leeway for further monetary easing "if needed to support demand", during a speech in Sydney on Monday.

Australia "has seen a substantial easing in monetary policy since late 2011," Stevens said, adding that recent inflation data appeared to support the bank's recent assessments.
