
Angolan governor praises inflation targeting

The governor of the National Bank of Angola, José de Lima Massano, has reviewed the country's flexible inflation-targeting system – introduced one year ago – and declared it a success, as annual inflation fell to 9.65% in September compared with 11.91% the previous year.
Massano told a Deloitte banking review meeting in Angola on October 17 that adopting inflation targeting had enabled Angola to achieve "the coveted single-digit rate" of inflation.
