atiur-rahman

The governor of the Bangladesh Bank, Atiur Rahman, today (August 8) said the country should take advantage of the next 10 years when the population will see a shift towards a lower dependency ratio.

"Bangladesh needs to cash in on its demographic dividend as our ratio of working age population to the total population is steadily rising due to the impressive progress we have made in fertility reduction," he said.

Rahman said over the next 10 years the country must "make the most" of the situation
