
ECB’s Asmussen stresses importance of central bank communication

Jörg Asmussen, a member of the European Central Bank's executive board, spoke today (July 6) about the importance of effective communication by central banks, and said the financial crisis had created a number of challenges in this regard.
Speaking at the 2012 European Communication Summit in Brussels, Asmussen said "the crisis was a game-changer in the communication of central banks". He added that communication prior to the crisis was deliberately "unexciting, technical and repetitive", but
