UK FPC member discusses role of the committee

Alastair Clark, a member of the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee (FPC), today discussed the role of the newly created committee and the challenges it faces in achieving financial stability in the UK.

Speaking at the Society of Business Economists' annual conference in London, Clark stressed the difficulty in defining the FPC's role due to the lack of a universally accepted definition of financial stability. There is "still less agreement on how to translate financial stability
