Bahrain executive director on growth of Islamic funds

Speaking on May 20, Abdul Rahman Al Baker, an executive director of the Central Bank of Bahrain, praised the strong performance of Islamic funds and discussed methods of encouraging further growth.

Delivering his speech at the Annual World Islamic Funds and Capital Markets Conference in Bahrain, he said: "In spite of the recent credit crunch and widespread global economic slowdown, the prospects for growth in Islamic securities markets are likely to be positive."
