Colombia central bank co-director discusses crisis

In a speech delivered on April 25 and only recently translated, Carlos Gustavo Cano, a member of the board of directors at the Central Bank of Colombia, considered the causes of the global recession and courses of action to avoid its recurrence.

Speaking at the Universidad del Rosario School of Economics graduation ceremony, Cano criticised the "arrogant" attitude of those responsible for economic policy in the run-up to the crisis, and described investors as being overcome with "mass hysteria"
