Prasarn confirms Thai participation in Chinese markets

The governor of the Bank of Thailand, Prasarn Trairatvorakul, has announced that the central bank will begin participating in the Chinese interbank and securities markets.

Speaking at the central bank's new office in Beijing, the governor highlighted the fact that Thai businessmen were among the first to invest in China, and that China is now the fourth largest foreign investor into Thailand.

The governor said the Bank of Thailand had received regulatory clearance to participate in the interbank
