BoE’s Salmon expects tighter regulation of payment operations

Chris Salmon, executive director for banking services and chief cashier at the Bank of England, on January 24 said the financial crisis is likely to encourage authorities to broaden their perspective when considering the safety of payment operations.

At the BAFT-IFSA Global Annual Meeting in London, Salmon described how the financial crisis had influenced the perspective of financial stability policy-makers towards payment operations. He argued that this will affect banks in two main ways
