
BoE’s Jenkins attacks banking lobby tactics

Robert Jenkins, a member of the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee, on Tuesday accused the banking lobby of "dishonesty" and potentially "damaging tactics" in their attempts to thwart Basel III reforms.
At the third Gordon Midgley Memorial Debate in London, Jenkins said: "Up to a point, it has been amusing to watch big banking's fight against financial reform. Remember their first response to the crisis? It was to deny the very need for reform. How dumb was that?"
