We can never get rid of financial instability: FDIC’s Bair

Sheila Bair, chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), on Wednesday testified before the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the US Senate.

Discussing monitoring systemic risk and promoting financial stability she said: "The inherent instability of financial markets cannot be regulated out of existence. Nevertheless, many of the Dodd-Frank Act reforms, if properly implemented, can make the core of our financial system more resilient to shocks by restoring market
