Bank’s Tucker: all EU countries should have resolution regime
Paul Tucker, the deputy governor in charge of financial stability at the Bank of England, on 30 September said it was "absolutely essential" that every European Union (EU) member country have a national resolution regime in place to aid commercial banks.
At the Eurofi Financial Forum in Brussels, Tucker said: "Very few countries of the EU - including until 18 months or so ago the UK - have a national resolution regime for conventional commercial banks. This is a real gap in the infrastructure
