Indonesia and the other East Asia-Pacific countries should err on the side of repairing demand and the financial system, Budi Mulya, the deputy governor of Bank Indonesia, said in late November. "In relation to this, it is always relevant to ask about the authorities' commitment, especially the Fed, to err on the side of being too late, rather than early, in starting their tightening cycle," he told the audience at an Executives' Meeting of East Asia-Pacific central banks (EMEAP).
