Czechs don’t need to import monetary policy – Tuma

The import of a "better" monetary policy via adopting the euro is not relevant for the Czech Republic, said Zdenek Tuma, the governor of the country's central bank.

Tuma said the country already had a credible independent monetary policy as long-term low levels of inflation and interest rates showed. He also said the macroeconomic impact of the removal of transaction costs and the increase of trade from joining Europe's monetary union would be minimal.
