Bernanke on central bank communication 'Fedspeak'

In a speech on 'Fedspeak' given on 3 January, Ben Bernanke of the Federal Reserve said the Fed could improve the US economy's performance by finding ways to make its objectives and thinking clearer to the public. He told a San Diego audience that the central bank should be "as explicit as possible about its policy objectives".

"Communication by the central bank may play a key role in helping improve economic performance," Bernanke said in remarks to the annual meeting of the American Economic
