Philippines' Tetangco: 2009 will be critical
Philippines ended 2008 fairly unharmed from the global financial turmoil but 2009 is critical, said Amando Tetangco, the governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines.
Tetangco stressed that the Philippines economy is buffered by the resilience of its domestic demand, by the discipline of inflation targeting regime and the central bank's policy of a market-determined exchange rate.
He also said that the central bank put a high importance to its communication strategy and frequent consultations
