Fukui on the state of Japan's economy

In a speech given on 5 July, Toshihiko Fukui, governor of of the Bank of Japan said that Japan's ongoing economic recovery is becoming broad-based as a result of structural adjustments.

Fukui said that there was still a question if the current recovery is different from the past two brief recovery phases in the 1990s.

Our economy has achieved significant progress in overcoming structural impediments, Fukui said at an international conference in Tokyo.
