Bies on current issues in corporate governance

In a speech on 'Current issues in corporate governance' given on 26 April, Susan Bies of the Federal Reserve said it was important for banks to ensure their processes for determining loan-loss reserves were solid.

"Financial regulators want to encourage banking organizations to strengthen their processes and documentation associated with their determination of the adequacy of their allowance for loan and lease losses," Bies said in remarks to a conference sponsored by the Bank Administration
