Liebscher on globalisation of financial markets

On the occasion of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank's 1999 conference "Financial Crisis - A Never-Ending Story ?", governor Klaus Liebscher highlighted the roles of public policy and central banks in a highly dynamic and complex transformation process of our economies, in which globally linking financial markets have become a major driving force for further structural reforms.

In this context, he concentrated on several issues, such as the lessons to be drawn from recent financial turmoils
