Uganda's finance sector strong - Mutebile

Uganda's financial system is robust, healthy and its exposure to the crisis-related credit is very limited, said Emmanuel Mutebile, the governor of the Bank of Uganda.

Mutebile said that Uganda's resilience stemmed from improved economic policies and institutional frameworks. However, he noted that the economic slowdown in the US and the European Union could affect demand for exports, and that Uganda could experience reduction in private capital and aid inflows.
