BoJ's Fukui on stabilization policies

In the speech 'On stabilization policies: A central banker's reflection' given on 27 May, Toshihiko Fukui of the Bank of Japan said the Japanese economy passed a critical milestone in its battle to escape more than a decade of stagnation, with the lifting last month of the government's blanket guarantee of all bank deposits.

'Major banks are now in much better shape.. .Japan's economy has passed a critical milestone,' he said in a keynote speech to an international conference on stabilization
