SPEECH - In the speech 'Sweden and the Euro' Kristina Persson of the Sveriges Riksbank said monetary union presents an attractive proposition for Sweden, given that we continue to improve the functioning of wage formation and labour markets and that we ensure a solid institutional foundation for fiscal policy to stabilise the economy. But she added that monetary union is putting pressure on both industry and politicians in the euro area to improve their performance in the years to come.
