Visual interfaces ‘hold promise’ for policy-makers
Visual interfaces "hold promise" as a tool for helping policy-makers conduct macro-prudential oversight, by offering an effective way of communicating about systemic risks, according to research published by the European Central Bank (ECB) on March 23.
The working paper, Macroprudential oversight, risk communication and visualization, by Peter Sarlin, asks whether it is possible to harness the theory of visual analytics – as well as techniques in the field – to support "risk communication".
