Dutch paper praises financial innovation


Despite possessing a ‘dark side', financial innovation has mostly had a positive effect, according to a working paper published by the Netherlands Bank on November 6.

The author, Franklin Allen, says though innovation can be undertaken to create complexity and exploit consumers, it is capable of helping the economy and often performs this role.

The environment has benefited from developments such as from fishing quotas; while regarding global health, the fight against tuberculosis has benefited
