
LIC Asia banks’ not isolated from crisis: IMF paper

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) paper, published in May, shows banks from low-income countries in Asia were not isolated from the global financial crisis despite their lack of integration to the global financial system.
Jack Joo Ree, the paper's author, used bank-level data to study the impact of the global financial crisis on banking sector soundness of banks from low-income countries in Asia.
Ree examines three key channels of possible crisis spillovers including exposures to valuation
