Credit channel working in Korea
A study into the monetary policy transmission mechanism undertaken by the Bank of Korea shows evidence in support of a credit channel and the need for better financial soundness in order to improve policy effectiveness.
The study into investment facilities adds to an already large body of literature into the effectiveness of monetary policy beyond the channels working through conventional interest rate. Described by Ben Bernanke, the Federal Reserve chairman, as the black box of monetary policy
