According to the firms surveyed for the Philadelphia Fed's Business Outlook Survey, April 2005, activity in the region's manufacturing sector continues to expand.

Most indicators point to somewhat faster growth in April, with increases recorded in the indexes for general activity, new orders, shipments, and employment. After moderating over the past few months, indexes for the prices of inputs and finished goods rose notably. The region's manufacturing executives remain generally optimistic that
