US liquidity impacts eurozone inflation

Excessive liquidity in the United States weakens the effectiveness of monetary policy in the euro area, a new paper from the International Monetary Fund posits.

The research suggests that excess liquidity in the United States has a positive impact on euro-area liquidity and inflation and so impacts euro-area monetary-transmission mechanisms.
