Japan's low rates explained
Japan's low long-term interest rates can be explained with economic rationality, according to a paper published by the Bank of Japan on Wednesday.
The paper looks at the term structure of interest rates and monetary policy using a macro-finance model to find an economic justification for the low rates.
The Bank of Japan's overnight rate is 0.5% at present.
