Emerging markets' capital inflows
A new paper from the Bank of England examines the supply of international capital flows to emerging-market economies.
The authors examine the cases of Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Korea, Mexico, Poland and Thailand, and find that supply of capital inflows is positively associated with emerging-market spreads, credit ratings and world GDP growth, while US high-yield spreads are negatively associated with them.
