Who stands to gain from inflation?

Research published by the Bank of Canada details the groups that have the most to gain, and to lose, from inflation.

The main winners are young middle-class households with substantial amounts of mortgage debt. It is also favourable for the overnment because of its long-term debt. Old and rich households and the middle-aged middle-class lose from inflation because of their bond-holdings and pension assets.
