Dutch inflation harms competitive position-Wellink

The Netherlands' competitive position is deteriorating due to inflation above the European average and higher wage demands, Dutch central bank president Nout Wellink said in an interview with a Dutch newspaper.

Inflation was set to reach "dangerous levels" next year, particularly if wages rose at the same pace, Wellink told the Algemeen Dagblad. Moreover, many observers would not notice the worsening Dutch trading position as the low level of the euro against the dollar meant exports were still
